About
Caverta 50 mg is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains sildenafil citrate, which belongs to a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. Sildenafil citrate works by inhibiting the enzyme PDE5, which regulates blood flow in the penis. By blocking PDE5, Caverta helps to relax the blood vessels in the penis, allowing for increased blood flow when sexually aroused. Caverta should not be taken with nitrate medications (often used for chest pain) as this combination can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure. It should also be used with caution in individuals with certain medical conditions or those taking other medications that may interact with sildenafil.
